Client: Energy Australia, Kingsford NSW
When Energy Australia conducted a residential power upgrade in Kingsford NSW, it required a barrier wall to act as a visual and sound barrier so as to protect local residents from the noise of the construction and night works. In addition, the solution also needed to act as a vehicle impact barrier as the upgrade works were located on a roadway.
Modular Wall Systems worked closely with Energy Australia and decided that the KerbWall was best suited for this project’s needs. A 2.4m tall, 100m long KerbWall was installed around the project site and a noise reduction of 20dB – a 4 fold audible reduction - was achieved.
"A site visit today revealed that these barriers have significantly attenuated noise levels at the worksite boundary by about 20dB as well as making a significant improvement to the amenity and tidiness of the area. Also, from discussions on site there was minimal disruption to standard work practices so a good result all round.
In summary, we were very impressed with the environmental improvements out there and if possible, would like to see these used for other projects." - Energy Australia
